Straight answers to the things most people wonder about before booking.
If your question isn't here, just ask. We respond fast.
"I'm embarrassed to admit I can't swim. Am I really the right fit for this?"
Yes, completely. Most of our students come to us as adults who never learned,
or who had a bad experience as a child and carried the embarrassment into adulthood.
You are not an outlier. You are exactly who this program is designed for.
Our coaches have heard every version of this story, and they won't make you feel
like you owe anyone an explanation for where you're starting from.
Pricing
Private lessons start at $200 per session for a 60 to 90 minute lesson.
Small group sessions (2 to 4 students) start at $150 per person.
If you would like to talk through pricing before booking,
schedule a free 15 minute intro call.
Logistics
Lessons take place at pools throughout Los Angeles, including Sherman Oaks,
Studio City, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Silver Lake, Burbank, Glendale,
West Hollywood, and Downtown LA. Your specific pool location is confirmed at
booking based on your preferred area and coach availability. If you do not have
access to your own pool, no problem. We can find one for you.
Just yourself and a swimsuit. Bring: a properly fitted swimsuit
(not swim shorts, they create drag), a towel, and goggles if you have them
(we have loaners if not). Leave behind: any pressure to be
further along than you are. Seriously. Show up exactly as you are.
We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule at no charge.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will forfeit the $50 booking deposit.
No-shows are charged the full session fee. If we ever need to cancel on our end
you receive a full reschedule at your convenience or a complete refund. No questions asked.
Progress & expectations
Most beginners feel noticeably more comfortable in the water after
2–3 sessions. Most students swim their first full
lap independently by sessions 4–6. Progress depends on how often
you practice between sessions and your starting comfort level,
but everyone moves forward. We'll give you an honest assessment
after your first session.
Yes, and this is one of the things we take most seriously. Fear of water
in adults is often rooted in a past experience, not a lack of capability.
We have coaches specifically trained for this, and the approach is
completely different from standard beginner instruction.
We never rush. We never push. You tell us the pace, and we work within it.
See our Specialized Programs for more detail.
Coaches & safety
Every coach holds a valid CPR/AED certification. Our coaches have extensive
competitive swimming backgrounds and specialize exclusively in adult instruction.
Full bios and credentials are on the Coaches page.
No age limit. We've coached students from their 20s through their 70s.
Adults learn differently at different ages, and our coaches know how
to adapt accordingly. If you have any physical limitations or health
considerations, just mention them in your booking form and we'll factor
that into your program and coach match.
Still have a question?
We respond to all inquiries within a few hours. Or, if you're
